Korea 2011: Golf

This was a particularly strange concept for me.  I grew up in Irene which has an internationally acclaimed golf course, one much favoured by Gary Player, and where the Bland boys built their skills.  As kids, we roamed the course as if it were an extended back garden - hectares of beautifully kept lawns and raked bunkers.

Golf in Korea is a bit different.  We have already explored their space constraints.  Seoul as a city has a population of more than 10 million people.  The young professionals there all aspire to play golf with a reasonable handicap.  This is the Korean solution:
The outdoor solution

The indoor solution
These 'courses' are stacked floors deep, whether inside or out.  The net surrounding the outside one is to stop the balls from flying out of the designated space onto the highways and byways on which they border.
